Our founders at TLP Advisors, Soham Jethani and Pankhuri Malhotra, along with Associate Pooja Unnikrishnan, had the privilege of leading a panel discussion during the legal workshop organised by Solana at Founders’ Villa on 9 October 2024. This interactive session brought together founders from across the globe, creating a platform for insightful discussions on key legal and regulatory developments impacting the web3 space in the UAE.
The panel focused on two crucial regulatory frameworks: the payment token regulations and the virtual asset marketing regulations, both of which are reshaping the business landscape for web3 companies operating in the UAE. The team analysed how these regulations are influencing ongoing businesses, especially in terms of compliance, operations, and growth prospects.
In addition, the discussion covered the importance of establishing robust corporate structures before setting up operations in the UAE. The team emphasised that selecting the right structure, whether it be a foundation, holding company, or other entities, is vital for ensuring legal efficiency and reducing risks. The session also addressed the various legal and risk management challenges that founders encounter, particularly concerning regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
The workshop concluded with a collaborative Q&A session, leaving attendees with actionable insights on navigating the UAE’s evolving regulatory landscape and effectively managing business risks in this dynamic environment.
